Construction

The Malolo Skimboards Woodie is constructed laminating two pieces of water resistant ply-wood together using a pre-shaped jig.  This not only creates the rocker in the board, but it also gives the finished board added strength and stiffness.

Decoration

All Woodies are stained on the deck only with various single colours using a high quality, low toxicity water-based wood stain.

Finishing

Malolo Skimboards’ Woodies come with three kinds of finish. The most basic finish is a board sprayed with a lacquer.  It is the most affordable board and will suit most pockets and while it may not be the most durable board in some instances it is still loads of fun!

The Woodie in the middle of the range of Woodies is a board that comes finished with a matt or glossy resin coated finish.  This board is slightly heavier than the lacquered finish board, a very smooth ride, still suiting most pockets and still a bunch of fun!

The Woodie with the fibre-glassed, gloss finish is the “flag-ship” of the Woodie fleet.  It is laid up with 1 layer of 6oz fibre glass cloth on both sides which naturally adds strength and durability as well as an element of stiffness to the construction of the board and it is polished to a deep glossy shine.  If you were to own one of these it would make you proud!
